Tall Ships Erie 2010 is scheduled for Sept. 9-12 on Dobbins Landing and nearby venues. The event will include eight tall ships -- Bounty, Lynx, Pathfinder, Playfair, Pride of Baltimore II, Roald Amundsen, Unicorn, and our own Niagara -- that will be open for tours.
Three other major events will be held in conjunction with Tall Ships Erie -- a concert series on three stages, a Maritime Film Festival at the Blasco Library's Hirt Auditorium, and Sept. 11's Heritage Festival at Liberty Park.
Day passes for Tall Ships Erie are $15; $10 for youths under 17, seniors 65 and over, and students with valid college ID. Weekend passes are $17, $13 for youths under 17, $15 for seniors 65 and over, $15 for students with valid college ID.
VIP passes are $75, $60 each with the purchase of 20 or more. VIP tickets include access to the upper deck of Dobbins Landing and free beer, wine, and finger foods on Sept. 10 from 2:30 p.m. on, and Sept. 11-12 from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Also included with VIP tickets are front-of-line privileges for ship tours.

8: Fashion show, Mercyhurst College.
9-12: RV, Camping, Powersports Spectacular, Erie Bayfront Convention Center.
10: "The Color Purple," Erie Playhouse.
11: Waldameer Summer Theater tryouts, Mercyhurst College.
12: Second Sunday, Erie Art Museum, free admission.
