ErieMoms

I know it's only the beginning of September, but I figure it can't hurt to get a head start!

My son is going to be almost 8 months on his first Halloween, and since we're renting, it's not like I'm all that friendly with my neighbors to take him around my neighborhood to show him off. I would take him around my parents neighborhood, but since all the "kids" in my neighborhood were around my age, they have all obviously moved on, and my mom said there's been maybe 4 or 5 lights on the whole block. Hardly worth it to take Alex out for that. I'm not looking for candy opportunities, because really, he's definitely too little for that (although I sure wouldn't turn down any candy!), and it's not like he's really going to remember, but it'd be nice to do something.

I know the zoo does Zoo Boo (or at least they used to). Is there anywhere else that would have something? I would prefer earlier in the day, as evening times are cranky times, and I know Halloween is on a Saturday this year, so I'd prefer to be all tucked away in my apartment once the older kids come out.

You could dress him up in his costume and take him out to Port Farms during the day, He is awful little for most of the activities but as an adult i just like walking around the grounds, It's beautiful. you could show him the goats, walk him through the corn maze, take the tractor ride, buy a pumpkin, They often post ads in the newspaper where you could get a phone number and call for more info. It's located in Waterford.

Zoo boo is very nice too but crowded, and dark.

The Trail of Treats in the Mall is ok, at least it's warm and light, but you get a lot of mean people pushing and shoving and alot of greedy bigger kids.

honestly if i were you I would just drive around to relatives houses and show him off, the baby doesn't need to get candy from strangers, and most grown ups these days don't either, plus it's so late at night.

one last idea, dress him up and take him to Picture People in the mall, Have some super cute shots taken in his costume.

just my opinions on things
Have a super fun time!
