I do not know her name - so sorry. I believe she participates with St Vincents but I am sure you could contact his office and they can give you her number - it's just that kind of place.

I was at St. Vincent's for all 3 of my children and had great experiences...their labor and delivery unit has been completely renovated over the last several years and is quite the place. I suppose that the recovery rooms are just like any other hospital (lol) but I can't complain about anything.

I also have friends that have used Hamot and their experiences have been great as well but I guess it really depends what OB you go with, some can only practice at one or the other. I know Dr. Thompson can do scheduled c-sections at Hamot but is with SV.

I can't recommend him to enough people, which might sound strange for an OB but he has such a great personality and is patient and very understanding. My husband was so depressed after we had our 4 year old because we wouldn't be making our monthly trips to see him! I became pregnant again when he was only 3 months old and I told Dr. Thompson that my husband had it all planned out so that HE could continue to see him:)

I think either would really be suitable so it's really a personal choice for me but I use SV for everything.

I really hope that this helps out - I can imagine the process of moving and needing the basics covered.

I myself didn't attend McDowell but I have lots of friends and colleagues that have...all with good things to say:) - great sports and academics, nice schools.

I have always liked St Vincents but like I said I haven't gone to any other hospital for child birth. I had good experiences with all 3 kids there. I have been to the labor and delivery ward at Hamot, not too much different to look at. Both hospitals have great NICU units so any trouble with little ones can be done right there.
I don't know for your preference but St. Vincents is obviously a Catholic hospital so that may be your deciding factor- not that anything is pushed upon you but you may have your own ideals regarding that:)
