Thank you so much. You sound like you have a good handle on this type of appliance. Neither my husband nor I are handy. Well I bake well and he's a terrific cook and we make people laugh. I'll contact MacClean and see what they say.…

Thank you for responding. The softener is made by MacClean. One serviceman took it apart and said that the part that was broken can't be replaced. That they don't offer parts for these machines anymore. I live in Meadville and get the…

Water Softners

Our water softener went kaput a while ago. So far I've had three men in my basement, and none of them knew how to deal with the one I had. We purchased it about five years ago. I've started to investigate water softeners....thrilling topic. We have hard water and have to do something before our dishwasher starts spraying calcium laden water at us. Please let me know what's working in your home. thanks, Roberta

I do bake bread for my family. I've been doing it for about eighteen months. I started as an offensive against high fructose corn syrup, it was in everything. and, the local bakery had raised their price whole wheat bread, so I stepped in. My…

spa wishes

I'm totally in this for the spa visit. I think the best way to tell someone you love them is to bake bread for them for as many weeks as you can stand it. I can talk talk talk all I want, it's action that demonstrates the love thing, so I don't just keep it to the midnight hours. Working at home makes it possible for me to start the yeast growing and taking breaks from the computer to stretch my legs, I invigorate my hands in a totally different way than through keyboard calithenics by kneading…See More

The Erie mom page is lovely.
I'm relieved that we've gotten through the first few days of school. My son's elementary school is under construction, so all the students have been re-settled at local churches until the work is completed.
Pretty amazing how two churches have welcomed three to four hundred kids for an indeterminate amount of time- six weeks?

I can always use lunch inspiration. So many years, so many lunches. Please share ideas on what you put in the box. Thanx
