Oatmeal Pancakes

Kids don't like oatmeal -- even though it is good for them? Here's a way to sneak it in. Mini Meatloaves

These are handy for small stomaches and just the right size to put on a bun for a teen's after-school snack. The shortcut here is stop at the store and pick up a remixed meatloaf mix, preferably one with equal parts ground beef, pork and veal. If you want to make your own mixture, you can sub in ground turkey for the veal.Catelli Brothers offers an equal mix at Tops Markets, other markets tend to be more beef centric. My daughter loved the mini size of the meatloaf.Enjoy.Meadloaves1 egg, lightly…See More

Pumpkin Spice Cake

This is a quick and easy cake to bring to holiday gatherings, or even have around for the kids for an after-school snack. I used a Bundt pan because it gives the illusion of a pumpkin, especially if you use orange frosting. The pumpkin and the vanilla pudding add a nice moist texture to the boxed cake mix. Bonus: Buy the cake mix with the boxtops for education if your school collects them -- or save for a friend.Pumpkin Spice Cake1 package spice cake mix1 can pumpkin1/2 cup oil1 package vanilla…See More

Hallween Candy Through the Lips and on the Hips

Before dipping into your dear one's Halloween bag, consider this.

Just sneaking a few, can add up to an entire meal. And heading into this holiday season, who needs three Kit Kats?

Applesauce

All moms face the issue of time vs diet. Here's a compromise. You can peel and core your apples, which are bountiful at this time of year, put them in a slow cooker at night and have applesauce in the morning.

I can't tell you what difference the taste is. I don't add sugar. You can taste and add some at the end, but I don't think you need it.

Mix up your apples. Honeycrisp, MacIntosh, Empire and Cortland are great.

This tastes so much better than the jarred… Continue

Hey Marnie, I have a recall list on pool toys for babies, but couldn't find how to add it. so.... here's the link:

http://www.cpsc.gov/cpscpub/prerel/prhtml09/09261.html

It's a VOLUNTARY recall, which means retailers can still sell them, so please get the word out about these! I almost bought one for my little boy. (not that I would leave him alone, so I would have been able to catch him if he had fallen through, but still).
