Candy Barrante is a great teacher. She does private lessons and has a great approach for kids. She teaches at Villa and has after-school lessons.

- Hi Sharon, I responded to your post about piano teachers. I have two names depending on your location. I didn't want to give a negative review on the boards but wanted to say that my personal experience watching Candy Barante wasn't super good. She was chronically late, she cancelled all the time at the last minute, was just generally a mess, It might have been family problems at the time that maybe have resolved but what i saw was Not professional in the least. so if you are serious about the lessons you might want to look around for someone else. Just my 2 cents

If you haven't already found a piano teacher, Jill Abbott is the one i know that lives near the Frontier area, on West 6th, so prettty easy to get to by way of the bayfront parkway. Her number is 874-5012. When i asked if she was taking new students she said yes, this was a month ago, i haven't asked recently, but she did mention that she usually recommends starting lessons around first or second grade, I think it helps alot if the child is a confident reader. But please call alnd talk with her about it.

12: Second Sunday, Erie Art Museum, free admission.
